While 7x 19 wire rope is called aircraft cable, it's not to be used for use on aircraft. The flexible construction includes 7 strands and 19 wires per strand in stainless steel, resulting in a small diameter stainless steel wire rope that is both flexible and offers superior resistance to corrosion. This general purpose stainless steel cable is found in a wide range of applications, including fences, railings, winch lines, garage door cables, sailboat rigging, and exercise equipment.
The T304 stainless steel finish is excellent at resisting corrosion, but will provide slightly less strength than a similarly-sized galvanized aircraft cable. For additional protection, this T304 stainless steel wire rope is also available in a vinyl coated steel cable configuration.
Please note: commercial grade aircraft cables cannot be used for aircraft controls.
