Hastelloyb-3 is upgrade product of  b-3

It has excellent corrosion resistance to the wet phosphoric acid production conditions in which the chemical fertilizer are produced .

Under these conditions, it is much superior to b-3 and stainless steel.

It also presents good resistance to partial corrosion caused by chloride solution and to stress-corrosion cracking induced by chloride-ion.

The high chromium content gives

 it powerful corrosion resistance to nitric acid, the mixture with nitric acid and as well as other oxidizing acids.

And the high molybdenum content makes the alloy immune to  corrosion induced by reducible acids to some degree.

Unlike other NiCrMOalloys, HastelloyG-35 has excellent resistance to dealloying corrosion induced by hot NaoH.
