The Hokkai Group is the largest manufacturer of head plates for pressure vessels in the world. Head plates are an indispensable critical component for pressure vessels for all kinds of industries ranging from those used in petroleum refining plants, petrochemical plants and energy-related industries such as nuclear, thermal and LPG power generation to those as diverse as chemical and food plants.
In 1961, the Hokkai Iron Works Co., Ltd. Developed a revolutionary production facility backed by its unique technology which enabled the cold-working production of high quality head plates. In the years since then, Hokkai has consistently met the manifold requirements of our clients and currently holds more than half the share of the domestic market. Reorganized into Hokkai Iron Works Co., Ltd. With 1 million yen capital and Yasutoshi Hayashi as CEO.

Constructed a 6000-ton large double-action oil hydraulic press and began manufacture and sales of ---head plates.

Exported a 7000-ton press and related facilities to the Union Tank Car Company in the U. S.
August1970
Started manufacture and sales of head plates using a flanging machine at Kishiwada Factory.

Founded Kansai Stainless Center Co., Ltd.

Integrated headquarters factory into the Kishiwada factory for a centralized production system.

Separated the sales department from the company and founded Hokkai Ltd. March1977
